Amish Handcrafted Furniture


Apothecary Pharmacy Cabinet


This custom Cottage Craft Works designed wall cabinet was inspired by an Antique Apothecary/Pharmacy Cabinet we saw in an antique shop. The beautiful oak cabinet measures 28" wide, 46" Tall, and 9" deep. Top has crown type molding, features two glass doors and 6 small drawers. The cabinet is priced unfinished, to allow it to be stained and finished for various kitchen, bath, and other decor needs. The cabinet shown sits above a double sink vanity between two mirrors. The cabinet looks at home in the kitchen or other high profile locations. We can have it custom finished for $50 extra.

Each cabinet is built upon order, smaller cabinets, or different wood types maybe custom ordered, on our custom order tab, pricing will vary based on size and cost of raw material. Allow 4-6 weeks for delivery. Approx shipping cost is $50 in the lower 48. We will send the actual additional shipping cost upon conformation of order destination. Amish Pecan Pumpkin Dessert

2 cans (15oz) solid pack pumpkin
1 can evaporated milk
1 cup sugar
3 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 pkg (18-1/4 oz.) yellow cake mix
1 cup butter or margarine, melted
1-1/2 cups chopped pecans

Frosting
1 pkg. (8oz.) cream cheese, softened
1-1/2 cups powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 (8oz.) cool whip

Coat a 9 X 13 cake pan with non-stick cooking spray, set aside.

In a mixing bowl, combine pumpkin, milk, sugar, beat in eggs and vanilla.

Pour into prepared pan.

Sprinkle with dry cake mix and drizzle with melted butter. Sprinkle with pecans. Bake 350 degrees for 1 hour or until golden brown.

Cool completely in pan.

In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar and vanilla until smooth. Fold in whipped cream topping, frost dessert, store in refrigerator.

Amish Peanut Butter Fudge Recipe

2c. granulated white sugar
2 Tbsp. peanut butter
1/2c. regular sweet milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Mix together sugar, peanut butter and milk.
Cook over medium heat until it forms a soft ball in cold water.
Remove from heat.
Add vanilla and cool slightly.
Beat until creamy and pour into a buttered dish.

Amish Cheese Ball Recipe

Cheese Ball
1 lb. sharp cheddar cheese
8 oz. cream cheese
1 jar Old English Cheese spread
1/2 Tbsp. garlic powder
1/2 Tbsp. onion powder
1 Tbsp. horseradish
1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce

Let cheeses stand at room temperature for several hours to soften.

Mix all ingredients together and chill several hours before serving.

Store in covered container.

Amish Cinnamon Roll Recipe

Cinnamon Rolls
2c. Lukewarm water
1tsp. salt
1/2c. white sugar
2pkg. yeast
1/4c. vegetable oil
2 eggs
5-1/2-6c. flour
cinnamon
white sugar
butter

Mix water, salt 1/2c. white sugar, and yeast with wire whip. Stir in vegetable oil. Beat eggs in separate container and add to the mixture. Stir in flour. Dough should still be bit sticky. Let rise 5-10 minutes. Mix together cinnamon, and remaining sugar. Melt butter. Roll out dough, rub with butter, and sprinkle with cinnamon/sugar mixture. Roll up into log, and lay slices in pan. Bake 325 degrees for 15 minutes.

Amish Chicken Barbeque Sauce Recipe

This is very similar to the chicken barbecue sauce recipe used at the annual church festival when I was growing up in Northern Ohio. It is different than the traditional tomato based sauces. Really makes chicken taste good. Liz http://www.cottagecraftworks.com

Chicken Barbecue Sauce
1c butter- melted
1c cider vinegar
2c water
2tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1tbsp. Salt
1 tsp. pepper

Mix together and heat. Soak chicken in sauce before grilling. Baste chicken with sauce as it cooks.
