Now imagine my fears working with decoys, rigging cords and weights

That makes me the official untangler! I spend hours sorting out the knots and kinks left after my husband tangles everything together.

It doesn't matter a ball of twine, fishing line, strings of Christmas lights, rope or extension cords he can put them away carefully, but when it comes time to use again just one pull out of the box and it’s a mess.

Now imagine my fears working with decoys, rigging cords and weights. Yea, the weights get wrapped around other lines, duck heads and who can imagine what else.

Now imagine how happy I was to find these tangle free rigging's made in the USA.

They are made heavy duty using a PVC coated cable that won’t crimp or stretch and best of all they won’t tangle together.

Traditional rigs are made using rope or monofilament line. As we know rope tangles and monofilament line acts like it has come into contact with a curling iron, twisting and curling around just about anything that it can.

Rope and nylon materials also absorb water and have to be replaced often when the fibers begin to break down.

You can throw the decoys in a bag with these rigging's attached, dump them at the edge of the water and pull one by one out free of tangles.

Picking them up after the hunt is great as well. Using the old rigging's keeping your hands out of the cold water was virtually impossible as you round up the decoys.

With these rigs you simply lift the decoy out of the water by its head and slip the rigging loop on to a “D” Ring clip.

You can hang them to dry using the “D” Ring and then just pick them up and drop them in a bag for the next outing.

They even come with a camo carrying bag.

The innovated rigging's have a slip lead that allows the decoy to automatically adjust to the water depth.

The rigs clip on to the decoy keel, there’s no knot tying needed. The strong cable will never rot or break so decoys don’t drift away.

The PVC coated cable also stays flexible even on cold days.

The standard 48” long rigs come packaged per dozen all made up and equipped with 4 oz teardrop weights.

Just like a custom made pair of cowboy boots, our leather craftsmen make each one of our leather holsters and products one at a time. They use only the best heavy-weight, premium leather harvested and tanned in the United States. Unlike other leather imported from foreign countries such as Mexico, leather tanned in the United States utilizes a vegetable oil tanning process. Many of the leather products imported still use urine, some of it Human, in the tanning process, thus when the leather becomes wet it will actually give off a foul urine odor. This will often occur with Mexican and other imported cheap leather products. The leathers used in our products are also much thicker than the imported leather, and will hold up to even to hardest use and abuse to someday become a family heirloom.

Using thicker leather means the stitching has to be thicker; our craftsmen use a thread thickness very similar to cord. The thicker the leather the better the holes punched during the sewing process will not pull through on the edges after years of hard use. Also the thicker the thread, the less likely it will break at the corners and other stress points in the leather product. Our craftsmen also double and triple stitch stress points such as belt loops, to provide years of use.

Our fancy tooled leather is actually hand tooled the old fashioned way. A tradition passed down from generations of leather craftsmen. The imported and many American mass produced leather products use a process of machine stamping to simulate the look of hand tooled leather.

Each of our handcrafted leather holsters are cut to the exact fit for a specific pistol and the exact barrel length. Massed produced holsters are cut to one size to fit multiple pistols and then machine molded to fit a specific range of pistol sizes. This process may vary on how a specific pistol and barrel length will fit into the holster. Too much play and the pistol may easily fall out when a concealed carried weapon individual bends over, or the weapon may fit too snug making it difficult to draw when time is critical.

Machine molding can actually thin and weaken the leather around the profile of the weapon, this area is also the most common wear point during the life of a holster, and thus the potential for wear tear through in a short time is very high. The stress points on our leather products are riveted together using cadmium plated rivets; Cadmium protects the metal from corrosion and blackening around the rivet and or rusting when the leather becomes wet. Many cheap holsters are made with inferior rivets that blacken the leather or will rust and eventually separate.

On the leather holsters using a belt clip, our craftsmen uses only the best quality heavy duty stainless steel clips. The clips are full enclosure device to lock securely around the belt. Others will use a short clip much like on a tape measure. These often pop off the belt during bending and kneeling. When carrying around a loaded weapon, the worst thing that can happen is for a clip to easily pop off or the clip breaks from stress allowing the weapon to fall out to the floor or to a hard surface and potentially discharge.

The Whole Foods/Organic Craze

As a new Whole Food store opened in our area I was not at all surprised with the crowd that it attracted. 

Granted it was the grand opening day, but the store was wall to wall with people filling their carts with a look and touch of each selection as if this is something really special for their family.

People are clearly concerned with the recent events in the safety breaches within our food chain.  They are also concerned with the health risk of pesticides and genetics being used to manipulate foods.

Even when the food leaves the farm it still may go through more alterations to preserve and doctor it up so that is looks fresh at the market, even when it may not be so fresh.

These are the reasons why people are going after whole and organic foods.  While both terms are widely used, organic seems to be more and more termed “Whole Foods”.

Both terms have different meanings, and foods sold as Whole Food, is not necessarily organically grown.

Whole Food is such a new term that it is not even regulated, leaving it wide open for marketing association without fact. Whole Food should be grown as naturally as possible without, synthetic chemicals and pesticides.

Organic on the other hand is regulated by the USDA and must meet rigid standards to be sold as organic.

Organic foods certified and displayed with the USDA Organic Green Seal is currently the Gold Standard in Organic Foods.

Probably the most proficient organic growers are Amish farmers.  An early spring trip through the Amish country will be fragrant as they clean out their barns with fresh manure to add to the organic fertilizer base on their fields and gardens.

The Amish Stutzman Family has grown organic grains in the Ohio rolling hills of Holmes County for over 60 years.  Long before organic certification ever existed the Stutzman family has practiced organic soil management to obtain rich fertile soil and high quality grains throughout their Amish heritage.
